The

Jane’s
high symptom spikes persisted during the first month of therapy.
The
graph below tracks Jane's overall progress during the first month
of therapy.
Of
the five symptoms of stress that Jane rated, only the highest
score is rendered as a stress peak on this graph. The scores Jane
gave to the nine elements of each sphere were averaged. The averages
were used to graph the intimacy, self, and achievement scores.
To
provide a reference point, Jane’s maximum pretreatment experiences
were each given a score of 10. The goal of therapy is to reach
experience levels far beyond those previously reported

After
three abortive attempts at breakthrough during the first three
weeks (March 1-17), Jane’s intimacy with Tim rose above her previous
maximum of 10 for the first time, reaching 12 on March 18, provoking
a strong symptoms spike that brought all three spheres down well
below 10 (March 20). However, her intimacy rebounded to reach
an all-time high of 17.6 on March 24, again provoking a strong
symptoms spike (March 26-April 1) that brought intimacy down again
on March 27.
To
provide a reference point, Terry's maximum pretreatment experiences
were each given a score of 10. The client's goal in therapy is
to reach experience levels far beyond those previously reported.
The
graph below tracks Jane's overall progress during 2 months of
therapy.

Jane’s
intimacy broke through her defense (symptoms) by April 3, rising
rapidly unopposed to reach 40 as her defense became exhausted
after a period of intense mobilization (March 26-April 1). However,
rapid advance of her intimacy provoked defense again at 40, which
blocked intimacy’s further advance (April 20-April 29).
The graph
below tracks Jane's progress over the 6 months of therapy.

One of the
elements of Jane’s measure of intimacy reached 100 on July 3,
at which point the scale was readjusted so that 10 would serve
as the previous maximum for measurements from that date forward.
After another spike of symptoms, just as her intimacy broke through
the readjusted previous maximum of 10, her three spheres rapidly
converged at the end of the fifth month of treatment, reaching
Stage IV of personality transformation. From that point, all three
spheres advanced together in balance, indicating that Jane has
been liberated from her borderline personality.
The graph
below tracks Jane's progress during the final 2 months (i.e.,
months 5 and 6).

Closer
examination of Jane’s progress during the final 2 months of therapy
revealed that her intimacy reached and exceeded her (readjusted)
previous maximum of 10 on July 7, provoking a spike of defense
-- a pattern that recurred on July 16. The symptoms spike July
30-31 occurred in reaction to an incident, in which Tim overreacted
to Jane’s provocation and walked out of the house barefoot and
went missing from 2 am- 9 am.
Jane has broken out of her borderline personality through 6 months
of therapy, thanks to devoted support from Tim, who in turn has
become transformed thanks to Jane
The case of Jane and Tim is described in depth in "Breakthrough
Intimacy - Sad to Happy through Closeness".
